The impact of information and communication technologies (ICT) and information systems(IS) in energy derived efficiencies at different industries.

The management of efficient energy systems at organization can impact in final results. Deficiencies in the way firms manage information resources oriented to produce energy efficiencies can imply a lack of organizational image and economic losses. Processes can be controlled by properly using information and communication technologies (ICT) and open data repositories (ODR). This research is oriented to develop applications that allow the control of energy consumption in key processes at different industries. These applications allow establishing preventive and protective measures to reach energy efficiencies. For the development of these applications, different concepts such as cloud computing, Internet of things (IoT), Near Field Communication technology (NFC) will be applied. The different phases will be as follows:

1) First, an initial analysis of needs and requirements in a variety of industries is done, different prototypes of hardware and software tools are developed.

2) The development and implementation of applications will be based in the centralized management of information. Microsoft Azure will be applied.

3) For the connection of sensors, Internet will be used. Cards based on the application of NFC technologies will be selected to send data in short distances. Main fundamentals for this project are based on the fact that teamwork quality at organizations depends each time more not just in the development of physical and logical infrastructures but in the quality of the management of organizational routines properly oriented to reach good results as a consequence of complementarities amongst resources. Through the “smart city” concept, different services are being built based in the intensive and rational use of information and communication technologies (ICT) that promote new organizational practices that allow reaching teamwork quality and generate sensing the market and innovation capabilities that have been proofed to be more efficient and sustainable from the economic and social perspectives.
